Wordpress is one of a great free blogging software. For me wordpress is the top blogging software ever available with a lot of addon features that we can choose.

The way to get it is by searching around wordpress plugins out there that fits your dream features. I must say that makes blogging using wordpress blogging software much easier and amazing. Every plugin has their own unique purpose in other way definitely will improve your blogging and blog. There are countless number of new plugin created everyday, so choose carefully and find the best for you.

But if you searching around the net, you might find what we called wordpress plugins that are essential (a must have plugins). So here today I will share you the must have plugin which I see many bloggers especially pro bloggers using it.

Akismet - This is a default WordPress plugin for stopping spam comments. It should be active or else, you will get unbeleivable spam comments in your posts!

All in One SEO Pack - As the name says it! This plugin is a must for your SEO management. It’s full of options for optimizing your post’s title, discretion, sitemap option, etc..

Show Top Commentators - This plugin will encourage more comments from your readers, by rewarding them every time they post a comment! Readers with the most comments are displayed on your Wordpress blog, with their names (linked to their website if they provided one)….In case this plugin didn’t work, you may check Top Commentators Widget plugin (works the same)

Smart Archives - This plugin will create an Archive page for you, just incase you don’t have an Archive page on your blog offered with the theme.

Subscribe To Comments - This is a so must have plugin! It allows your readers to receive notifications of new comments that are posted to an entry they subscribed to. When they comment at your blog, they will have an option to check a box (for notification), then they will get email notification of further comments. This plugin helps a lot in having your visitors returning back to your blog.

Top Posts By Category - This plugin helps you to have your top posts in one place for your visitors. You can place this in your sidebar, or create an entire page for it.

WordPress Database Backup - We all know we should backup our databases daily. This wordpress plugin is saved us a lot of trouble! It simply adds automatic daily backup functionality for your all important database. Your can have the backups placed directly on your web server, or emailed to you.

Brian’s Threaded Comments - This plugin gives you threaded comments and a “wandering” comment form.

WordPress.com Stats - This plugin works like any tracker, that will track you blog’s traffic stats. Tracks views, post/page views, referrers, and clicks.

runPHP - This plugin enables you to embed PHP code directly into your posts.

Contextual Related Posts - This plugin show last 5 contextually related posts on single blog posts, right after the comment form. It is a good idea for your readers to have a chance to see your other posts related to the one they are reading.

Google PageRank Update - How To Improve It ?

There are lot of questions asked about how to improve Google Pagerank. Most people wondering how can suddenly their pagerank drop from PR4 to PR0, and how eventually the PR0 blog jump up to PR3. One of the blogger who facing the situation is Roseate, where you can read about it here.

Its weird to see how changes on Pagerank. A lot of speculations going through, while most blog owner digg the problem to see the major course this thing happen to their blog.

Roseate also have her own conclusion on what was actually happen when her blog PR suddenly drop drastically. Here is what she has to say...

Google Is Driving Me Crazy In It’s PageRank Strategy !!!

After my PageRank went to PR0 from PR3 at this blog, I realized it was because of the sponsored posts, then I knew that google is not against paid posts, but they want us to add “re=nofollow” to them and it’s ok …. So I did so, added nofollow to all my sponsored posts, as google said that it’s ok to pay for a post to get traffic or noticed, but not to build a PageRank! ….. Then my dear Google was kind enough and gave me a PR2 !!! … I was like “TWO!!! Mmmm ok … no prob …. the next update will be better” …. But guess what, as usual and expected from google “expected by me!” that was the last PR I got, the next update and the following ones “god know how many updates they were!!” I never got anything, a PR0 my blog is now and I think it will stay that way as I can’t guess what my dear Google saw wrong at my blog to do so!!!

P.S. Although my traffic is increasing, and my blog is doing well (not that much affected by PR) … but I would prefer to get a PR, as all of the bloggers and webmasters are going crazy about it, and everyone is being “proud” by having a PR this or PR that!!!
